Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- X HD Play Report

Sega Games has finally released “Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- X HD” on the 25th of August for PS4. This is a PS4 port of the Playstation Vita rhythm action game, “Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- X”, but now has improved graphics, new event theme songs, and a new photo studio mode that’s only available on the PS4 platform.

Gorgeous 1080p Resolution and 60 FPS Frame Rate

The PS4 version runs at a high quality 1080p/60fp with butter like smooth graphics. Song PVs with Hatsune Miku and other characters dancing, the CG  live quest mode, and several other modes will all be rendered in full HD gorgeousness.

There are more than 300 different modules (costumes) in the game, and each of them have their textures rendered very realistically. The character's’ hair and skirts’ movement are also much more fluid. It is enjoyable enough to just watch a long haired character dancing.

For example, “chikai no koen stage” was impressionable due to the sun rays and trees in the background, but in this upgraded version, the shadows casted by the light are even more beautiful than before. Due to the realistic background, the characters truly feel like they are in that place.

It goes without saying, but the special performances of the various stages are a must-see. I recommend the “sakura koyou stage” in particular.

Two New Event Theme Songs. “Live Edit Mode” Playstation VR Compatible

The new games include “Sharing The World” by BIGHEAD and “Hand in Hand” by livetune. The former is the theme song for “Hatsune Miku Expo 2014” and the latter is the theme song for “Magical Mirai 2015”.

These two songs are released as extra content, but both are now available on the PS Vita version for 500 yen while they are free on the PS4 version.

<Hand in Hand>

A free update in the future will implement Playstation VR compatibility. 32 songs from live edit mode and DLCs will be viewable with VR for a realistic live experience.

Freely Design Backgrounds in Photo Studio Mode

Project DIVA X HD introduces the new “Photo Studio Mode”. This is similar to the “Portrait Mode” in the PS Vita version that allows you to edit character expressions and poses to design your very own images.

Other than being able to choose from various backgrounds, you are also able to load your own background images into the game via your PS4 or USB drive. You can use photos taken by a Playstation Camera.

Images created with the photo studio mode will be usable as wallpaper in your PS4, PC, or smartphones, for your 24/7 Miku viewing pleasure.

I Highly Recommend For Those Who Played The PS Vita Version to Check Out The Graphics In The Demo Version!

Have I managed to convey how much of an upgrade this version is over the original? Even though the core contents remain the same, the PS4 version has such shockingly beautiful graphics that makes it worth getting.

Right now, the PS store has a free demo version for you to try. It has “Satisfaction” by livetune, “LOL -lots of laugh-“ by mikumix, “Raspberry monster” by HoneyWorks available for play. Whether you have played the original or not, give the demo a shot and witness for yourself how gorgeous Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- X HD is.
